Admittedly, Inc. (“Admittedly”,“we”, “us”, and “our”), owns and operates the website at Admittedly.co (the “Site”), and offers essay review and other consulting services. Collectively, the Site and other Admittedly services are referred to as the “Services.”

About this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains our privacy practices with respect to data that we collect about individuals on the Site and through all Services we provide.

This Privacy Policy is part of our Terms of Service, including all terms and policies referenced therein (the “Terms of Service”), which are incorporated herein by reference. By using the Services, you agree to be bound by our Terms of Service, this Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

This Privacy Policy applies to all Admittedly clients and users of the Services. It does not apply to the practices of any third party that is not owned or controlled by Admittedly. To the extent that information is shared with any third party as described in this policy, use of your information by such third parties is subject to their own terms of service and privacy policies, and you should review them carefully.

Types of information we collect

When you use the Services or otherwise interact with Admittedly, we may collect data that identifies you or can be used to identify you, which is sometimes referred to as “personal information,” “personally identifiable information,” or “personal data” under applicable law. We refer to this kind of data in this Privacy Policy as “Personal Information.” We may also collect or receive other kinds of information about you automatically when you use the Services as described below in the Section entitled “Information collected automatically”. Please note that this kind of usage information may sometimes contain Personal Information. We refer to all information collected about you collectively (including Personal Information and all other information) as “Information.”

How we collect information

Information that you provide to us

Admittedly and our Service Providers (as defined below in the section entitled “How information may be shared or disclosed”) may collect Information that you provide to us directly through or in connection with the Services. This may include:

Contact information, such as your name, email address, and phone number

Payment and transaction information, such as your billing information, payment methods, and purchase transaction history

Other information that you provide to us, including as part of our essay service intake form, strategy phone calls, and communications during the course of the Services being provided, as well as customer support interactions

Information that is automatically collected

When you access or use the Services, we and our Service Providers and third-party business partners may automatically collect certain Information about your use of the Services, such as:

Log Data. When you interact with the Services, certain Information from your device or web browser is automatically received and recorded. We also collect information when you navigate through the Sites, including what pages you looked at and what links you clicked on. For example, we collect your internet protocol (IP) address (and location derived from your IP address), device ID, browser type, operating system, platform, and internet service provider (ISP). When you use the Services, user IDs or other online identifiers that indirectly identify you may be created and used to collect data about your activities across the Services.

Cookies. When you browse, use, or interact with the Services, Admittedly and our service providers and other third parties may automatically collect certain Information, such as data about your device, browser, and online activity through automated means, including through the use of cookies and similar technologies. This Privacy Policy covers the setting and use of cookies by Admittedly, and does not cover the setting or use of cookies or other tracking technologies by any third party. The types of cookies used on the Services are described below.

Necessary cookies. These cookies are required to enable core site functionality and to remembers use preferences and choices, such as language preferences or customized settings. You cannot opt out of these cookies. You can set your browser to block them or alert you about the existence of these cookies, but if you do block them, the Services are unlikely to work properly.

Performance and analytics cookies. These cookies provide quantitative measures of website visitors. With the usage of these cookies we are able to count visit and traffic sources to improve the performance of our Site and Services. You may opt out of these cookies by clicking “Manage Cookies” in the cookie banner on the Site. If you do not allow these cookies, then certain features of the Services are unlikely to work correctly.

Advertising cookies. These cookies are used by advertising companies to serve ads that are relevant to your interests. You may opt out of these cookies by clicking “Manage Cookies” in the cookie banner on the Site.

Information received from third parties

We may also receive Information about you from third parties, including, but not limited to, when you make purchases on the Services or on third-party platforms, or when you use third-party platforms to access Admittedly digital course content purchased via the Services.

When you make a purchase on the Services, we use a third-party payment processor to process payments and transactions. By submitting your credit or debit card account information or other financial information through the Services, you expressly consent to the sharing of this information with our third-party payment processors. Our payment processors may collect, use, disclose, and store your credit or debit card account information and other financial information to process purchase transactions, enable you to use our Services in the future, and otherwise in accordance with their terms of service and privacy policies.

We cannot guarantee that transmissions of your credit or debit card account information, social security number, other banking or financial information, or other Personal Information processed by our third-party payment processors will always be secure or that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat the security measures taken by us or our third-party payment processors.

Currently, our payment processor is Stripe (“Stripe”). Stripe offers you the opportunity to opt in and store your payment methods via Link in accordance with the Link Consumer Terms and Link Privacy Policy (collectively, “Link Terms”). When you make purchases on the Services, Admittedly may have access to limited information about your payment card from Stripe, such as the last four digits of your payment card number and the billing address associated with your card. We do not store or have access to your complete credit or debit card account information, social security number, banking information, or other financial information.

How we use the information collected

Admittedly uses Personal Information to provide the Services to you, and for other purposes as described below:

To process your transactions

To communicate with you about the Services being provided, inform you of changes to our terms and policies, and gather feedback

To send newsletters, offers, or other marketing communications to you about our Services

To enhance our Services and any future products or services

For security purposes, to protect Admittedly and third parties, and to detect and prevent fraud

To enforce legal terms

To comply with our obligations under applicable laws, rules and regulations, and to respond to government requests

How information may be shared or disclosed

Admittedly may share your Information with others for the following purposes. All recipients of your Information will use and process your Information in accordance with their respective terms and privacy policies.

Service Providers: Admittedly uses the services of third-party vendors, contractors, consultants, and service providers who need access to your Information in order to enable them to perform services on our behalf or to provide us with additional information necessary to provide the Services to you. This includes our third-party payment processors (such as Stripe) and other service providers such as customer support, marketing, email, and data and website hosting vendors.

Third Parties: If you purchase a digital course on the Site, we will share your Information with our third-party business partners for the purpose of enabling you to access and stream course content. If you purchase digital course content and are directed to a third-party platform to access and stream the content, your use of such third-party platform and collection of data by such third party is subject to that third party’s terms of service and privacy policy. We may share your Information with third parties for our own direct marketing purposes (for example, email blasts, special offers, discounts, etc.). We may also match your Information with third parties and use such match to deliver custom advertisements, offers or emails to you both on and off the Services.

Business Transfers: If Admittedly is involved in a merger, acquisition, consolidation, corporate reorganization, transfer, or similar transaction with respect to our business, your Personal Information may be disclosed, sold, or transferred in connection with such transaction.

Regulators and Authorities: We may share your Information with law enforcement, government authorities, or other parties: (a) where we believe in good faith that such disclosure is required by law or is otherwise is necessary to comply with legal obligations, protect your rights and safety or those of other individuals; (b) to protect, investigate, and deter fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical, or illegal activity; or (c) to pursue available legal remedies and/or defend legal claims.

How you can change or control what is collected

Opting out of Cookies

You may opt out of non-necessary cookies by clicking “Manage Cookies” in the cookie banner on the Site. If you do not allow these cookies, certain features of the Services are unlikely to work correctly. Your browser settings may allow you to automatically transmit a “Do Not Track” signal to online services you visit. Please note that there is no industry consensus as to what website operators should do with these signals. Because of this, Admittedly does not currently monitor or take action with respect to “Do Not Track” signals. For more information on “Do Not Track,” visit AllAboutDNT.com.

Some of the cookies described in this Privacy Policy may be set by our service providers or third-party business partners, either from Admittedly-owned domains or third-party domains. You may be able to control the use of certain cookies by third parties by adjusting your settings with those providers. For more information on whether and how you can opt out of cookies by other third-parties, please see the websites and privacy policies of the applicable third parties.

Information and deletion requests

If you would like to receive a copy of Personal Information we hold about you, or to request deletion of your Personal Information, you may submit a request by sending an email to hello@admittedly.co. Please note that certain data will be retained by Admittedly even after your deletion request is processed. For example, if you have an order that has not yet been completed, we need to retain certain Information (including Personal Information) to complete the transaction and provide the Services you have purchased. We may also retain your Personal Information in order to maintain security and existing functionality of the Services, to comply with our own legal obligations, and for other internal business purposes as permitted by applicable law.

Opting out of marketing communications

Some communications that we send to you are optional, such as marketing communications. You can opt out of optional communications by clicking the unsubscribe link in the bottom of any marketing emails you receive from Admittedly or by sending an email to hello@admittedly.co. You will not be able to opt out of communications related to Services being provided to you, as these are critical to fulfillment of the contract between us. You will not be able to opt out of receiving notices that relate to our legal obligations.

Privacy information for California residents

If you are a California resident, you may be entitled to certain rights with respect to your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”). This section explains the rights of California consumers regarding your personal information that we collect. For purposes of this section, the terms “consumer,” “personal information,” “service provider,” “third party” and “sale” shall have the meanings set forth in the CCPA and/or other California laws, as applicable.

The CCPA provides California consumers with the following rights:

The right to request the deletion of personal information that we hold about them.

The right to request more information about our data collection, use, disclosure and sale practices in connection with their personal information.

The right to correct inaccurate personal information that we may have collected, subject to appropriate verification.

The right to request a copy of specific personal information we hold about them.

The right to opt out of future sales of their personal information.

The right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of their California privacy rights.

Please note that certain data may be exempt under California law from access, data portability, and deletion requests. With respect to deletion requests, this means that certain data will be retained by Admittedly even if you submit a deletion request. For example, if you have an order that has not yet been completed, we need to retain certain information (including personal information) to complete the transaction and provide the Services you have purchased. We may also retain your personal information in order to maintain security and existing functionality of the Services, to comply with our own legal obligations, and for other internal business purposes as permitted by applicable law.

California law entitles California residents to ask for a notice describing what categories of personal information we share with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. Admittedly does not share any personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. A note about children

The Admittedly Terms of Service require that all users of the Services must be 13 years of age or older. To purchase a digital course on the Services, users must be 18 years of age or older. Children between the ages of 13 and 17 must have the permission and supervision of their parent or legal guardian. Admittedly does not knowingly collect Personal Information from individuals under the age of 13. If you believe that a child under the age of 13 has used the Services and/or provided us with any information, please contact us at hello@admittedly.co.

International users

The Services are provided and hosted in the United States. If you are accessing the Sites or Services from outside the United States, your Personal Information may be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable U.S. laws. Please note that data protection and other applicable laws of the United States may not be as comprehensive as those laws or regulations in your country or may otherwise differ from the data protection or consumer protection laws in your country. By using the Services, you consent to the processing of your Information and transfer your Information in the United States as described in this Privacy Policy.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

When we post modifications to this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. The modified Privacy Policy will be effective immediately upon posting on the Service.
